Hurry downtown in your best Halloween costume and enter the Bolling Wilson Hotel children costume contest and trick or treating with downtown merchants then stay for the main event, the Zombie Run. Runners dressed in Halloween costumes will run through a quarantine area in Downtown racing against zombies looking for “fast food.” After the race zombies and runners will come together for an Apocalypse adult costume after party.

Registration the day of the event is $30 and a T-shirt is not guaranteed. Zombie registration is Free.
Runners will have a limited number of flags that prevent them from being infected by the un-dead plague and must avoid the lurching zombies’ attempts to take all your flags. The route through Downtown is beset by zombie hoards and lone zombies roaming in search of brains. Each runner will be entered in a prize drawing; any flags a runner has left at the finish line can be turned in for additional entries. All proceeds support the Downtown Wytheville, Inc.
ZOMBIE PARADE: This year there will be a Zombie Parade starting at 3:15 pm in the intersection of Main St. and 5th St. Zombies will march to the Bolling Wilson Hotel where they will join spectators in a “Thriller” Flash Mob dance (check out YouTube for instructional videos). After the parade, Zombies will be guided to their location on the run route. Zombies must go to their assigned locations to participate in the run.
DAY OF THE RUN: Day of the event registration is available, but we cannot guarantee a t-shirt or flag belt. Sign in for runners and zombies begins at 2:30 pm. Runners and Zombie registration will be in Wither’s Park located on Monroe Street.
Both runners and Zombies need to pick up shirts, belts and packets from 4:30 pm-7 pm on Friday, October 20th at the Cellar, located behind the Farmer’s Market on Spring Street.
The run starts at 4:00 p.m. at Wither’s Park on Saturday.
The run/walk/obstacle course is a potentially hazardous activity and you could be seriously injured.
Runners will have flags attached to their clothing and “Zombie participants” may try to remove them (similar to “flag football”). No physical contact between zombies and runners is allowed except when a zombie is trying to take a runners flag.

Violations of these rules are determined by race personnel and their decision to withdraw a participant is final. No refunds are issued under these circumstances.
